On October 18, 10 days before the 70th anniversary of ZJWEU, a grand ceremony for new faculty was held at Nanxun Campus of ZJWEU. A total of 161 new faculty members, brimming with enthusiasm, hopes, and aspirations, were formally welcomed into ZJWEU. The ceremony was attended by Qian Tianguo, the Secretary of the Communist Party of ZJWEU, and Chen Guangting, President of ZJWEU, and heads of all colleges and related departments.
Chen presented the new faculty representatives with the anthology “On Teachers,” a collection of stories exemplifying the excellence in teaching and nurturing students.
Yuan Lin, a teacher from the College of Information Engineering, and Meng Chaobiao, a teacher from the College of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, spoke on behalf of the veteran and new teachers, respectively.
ZJWEU has always attached great importance to the development of the teaching staff, with a core focus on professional ethics. This training marks the largest-scale training for new faculty members in the history of ZJWEU. It encompasses the delivery of the “New Teachers’ First Lesson,” specialized lectures, and meaningful training experiences in laboratories, libraries, and the university history museum. These efforts aim to enhance teachers’ professional ethics and dedication. Simultaneously, the university places emphasis on the mentorship role of outstanding teachers and pairs each new faculty member with an experienced teacher who can provide one-on-one guidance and help new faculty members grow rapidly.
